(Glendale, CA) - Today, Glendale's Alex Balekian, an esteemed ICU physician and community advocate, has thrown his hat in the ring for the United States House of Representatives in California's 30th congressional district. Balekian kicked off his campaign with a web ad entitled, Prescription for Progress: Dr. Alex Balekian's Campaign for CA-30.

Alex Balekian has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to his community, a connection that deepened during his tenure as an ICU physician amidst the COVID-19 crisis. It was during this challenging period that he was able to further develop his resilience, adaptability, and selfless dedication to service — qualities that he plans to bring to the halls of Congress.
 

Alex has declared his candidacy as a Republican entrant in the 2024 congressional elections. His balanced approach to fiscal conservatism and moderate social views offer an inclusive perspective that bridges the political divide while disrupting the status quo. Recently, Alex has been deeply engaged in local issues. He was a staunch advocate for peace during the LGBT protests, striving to find a solution acceptable to all involved. Furthermore, he has been an outspoken opponent of the 400% garbage tax hike.
